Alert was launched at Zebrikowo and Ofw. Wintergerst, who rested in bath clothing in that very warm day, was the only one near the machines. He sprang in its Bf 109, took off quickly and claimed …seven SB-3 (8th-14th v.)! A General was in visit at Zebrikowo and when the victorious pilot landed, he wanted to congratulate him. Wintergerst was so ashamed to be seen in such clothes that he remained a long time in its plane before leaving it. The General was amused and there was no “report to higher authority”.
Печально, но история действительно подтверждается нашими потерями. На аэродром не вернулось пять экипажей 40БАП ЧФ, еще три совершили вынужденные посадки на нашей территории...
