- что у SBD висит под крыльями?
An original oil on canvas by one of the most highly respected artists in the field of aviation art.
This untitled piece depicts SBD Dauntlesses attacking Japanese shipping in the Pacific, the location is believed to be Guadalcanal.
R.G. Smith is closely associated with the Dauntless, having been involved with it's design while working for the Douglas Aircraft Company, and he is probably best known for his portrayals of this type. It is altogether a classic R.G. Smith painting.
The date of the painting is not known, although it has been held in a private collection since the mid 1970s. The canvas measures 30" x 40".
